Data Methodology

How we source, verify, and present cryptocurrency conversion data

Price Data Sources

All cryptocurrency prices on LiveCoinRate are sourced from the CoinGecko API, one of the most comprehensive and widely-used cryptocurrency data aggregators. CoinGecko aggregates price data from 900+ exchanges globally, providing volume-weighted average prices.

Fiat exchange rates are sourced from open exchange rate APIs that track interbank mid-market rates.

Update Frequency

Price data is refreshed every 5 minutes via automated processes. Each page displays the exact timestamp of the last data update so you always know how fresh the information is.

Market metadata (market cap, volume, rank) is updated every 24 hours from CoinGecko's market data endpoints.

Exchange Fee Comparison

Exchange fees displayed on our pages reflect the standard spot trading fees for each platform as documented in their official fee schedules. We show maker and taker fees for the base tier (no VIP discounts applied).

Fee data is reviewed and updated monthly. Actual fees may vary based on your account tier, trading volume, and specific trading pair.

Price Charts

Price charts on converter pages are generated from historical price trends and represent the general price movement direction for the selected time period. For precise historical data, we recommend cross-referencing with CoinGecko or TradingView.

Conversion Calculations

Conversions are calculated using the formula:

Amount in Fiat = Crypto Amount × Current Crypto Price in USD × USD-to-Fiat Exchange Rate

For direct crypto-to-fiat pairs available on exchanges, the actual tradeable rate may differ slightly from our calculated rate due to exchange-specific pricing, spread, and liquidity.
